Twin Ginger Musicians/Rhythm Section Bass Guitar Drums — Evel Ginger Studios

It all started in North Carolina at 11 years old when the twins (Adam & Alex Sims) Grand Parents (Mickey and Janette Sims) bought them for their birthdays the greatest gifts imaginable for a kid, every parent’s worst nightmare… Their first musical instruments! For Alex it was a used set of Percussion Plus drums and for Adam it was a Semisonic (fender Strat copy out of the JC Pennies catalog) guitar. Both brothers initially wanted to play drums, but they eventually figured out if one played another instrument, they had half the band together from the start. So, Adam decided to take off with the strings once he saw Alex was better at drums than him. Both of the twins played for numerous different bands throughout the years sometimes even in the same bands the twins performed and wrote music together. Their love for music and creating, prompted them to start a studio setup that could work for both of them during their busy lives.

Evel Ginger Studios is two separate home studios that are owned by identical twins Adam Sims and Alex Sims. At Adam’s house in Conover, NC a lot of guitar/string instruments and vocal tracking is done and sometimes mastering. At Alex’s house in Hickory, NC there is a full live room that usually serves a purpose as a practice room that has backline and PA, or a live recording room, it is also setup for individually tracking as well. Most of the mixing and mastering is done at Alex’s studio. Both of the twins play in bands locally, regionally, and do track work for clients. The vision is one with double the workspace. They often get asked why they spell the name Evel, instead of evil. The brothers have raced/rode dirt bikes for most of their lives as well, and the love of a childhood hero, Evel Knievel would ultimately inspire their name for the studio. Evel Ginger Studios established in August 2019, is owned and operated by identical twin brothers Alex and Adam Sims. The brothers grew up in small town North Carolina. Their love for music began at an early age but didn’t learn to play music until the ripe age of 11 when their grandparents bought them their first instruments. Alex, a studio and live drummer has continued to push his education and passion to new heights recording and playing with multiple live local acts and regional acts Adam, a studio and live guitarist / bassist writes music for many local projects.
